  • A mid-year report on SUSA

The start of the year for SUSA has been extremely exciting. With the beginning of our school year we kicked off our monthly large group meeting (at the mission office) and Bible studies on campuses. Our large group meetings consist of getting together as a college community, praising God and studying the Word or various topics that we encounter as college students through the lens of Scripture.

  • New leadership focuses on discipleship and evangelism

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2) On a mid-semester morning in Trujillo, the campus of Antenor Orrego Private University is bustling. Outside its gates, buses, vans and taxis deposit students and carry others away.

  • Establishing a foundation for a student spiritual multiplication movement

The motto of SUSA (St. Augustine University Society of Trujillo) is Bringing students to Christ, equipping them to serve. When I had my first interview with the leaders of the student movement, before I got involved with the ministry, we agreed that the reason this ministry exists is to bring the gospel to the university students, in other words, to help carry out the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ in the universities of the city of Trujillo (Matthew 28:16-20).

  • SUSA monthly large-group meeting

Last Friday night the St. Augustine University Society held its monthly large-group meeting. This is an opportunity for students from many universities to gather together for fellowship, singing, and learning.

  • Conference on Faith & Science

Last Friday night Peru Mission missionary Megumi Mills, PhD, delivered a talk on faith and science as part of SUSA's inaugural monthly large group meeting. Dr. Mills focused on the role of presuppositions in science.

  • Welcome, Pastor Oscar!

We recently welcomed Pastor Oscar Briones and his wife Elvira to our team in Trujillo. Pastor Briones is our university ministry's new minister. In the very short time he has been with us, he has put together a conference for student leaders and established a plan for small group studies in each of the universities.

  • Saturday Barbecue with University Students

Last Saturday college students from SUSA (our university ministry) gathered at our Mission House for a Peruvian barbecue. The weather was perfect and we had a good turnout. There were many new faces and we made several hopeful connections.
