Conference on Faith & Science

Last Friday night Peru Mission missionary Megumi Mills, PhD, delivered a talk on faith and science as part of SUSA's inaugural monthly large group meeting. Dr. Mills focused on the role of presuppositions in science. "Depending on what we presume," she explained, "we will come to different conclusions of scientific data. That is an innate fault in the scientific method." Dr. Mills described her personal experiences with science and her ultimate choice to put her faith in the Bible, perhaps most importantly the Biblical account of creation, arguing that "everyone in their career will have issues they encounter in which they have to choose by which wisdom they will live." As Christians, she concluded, we must make sure we are interpreting the Bible correctly, and to be careful to consider the many presuppositions that lie beneath the claims we hear. Dr. Mills' presentation was an excellent way to begin the year's large group meetings for SUSA. Please continue to pray for this university ministry, that many students would come to saving faith in Christ in Trujillo and elsewhere. Click here to see photos of the conference.
