Economic Development

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” (Matthew 25:35)

Jesus always preached the gospel in the context of acts of compassion and mercy.  At Peru Mission, we are seeking by the power of the Holy Spirit to follow His model.  One way we do this is through economic development.  Over the last four years, we have launched two separate businesses with the purpose of ministering to the poor and suffering through training and development.

Sinergia Microfinance

Sinergia Microfinance has helped over 600 women in the Esperanza District outside of Trujillo with small, low-interest loans since its doors first opened in February of 2007.  The loans these women receive help them open or augment small businesses that help them provide a living for their families.  For more information about Sinergia Microfinance, visit Sinergia's website.

Parish Woodshop

Started in 2008 as a discipleship and job training ministry, Parish Woodshop works with young men to teach them how to work with their hands, run a small business, and be men of godly character.  The carpenters learn skills that will not only serve them as they strive to provide for their families, but also as they strive to be spiritual leaders at home.  For more information about Parish Woodshop, visit Parish's website.
