First Presbyterian Church, Jackson, MS

I am not sure of the exact number of years, but I believe this was the 11th straight year that FPC Jackson has traveled to Cajamarca, Peru to show God's love through caring for physical needs as well as sharing the Gospel each day. This amazing team of 37 came to Peru and served without ceasing for the entire week. We began our week in a small town named, Jesus. How appropriate to start with Jesus! The plan was to see a few hundred (between 150 and 200 patients) at a local medical clinic in this town outside of Cajamarca, but we ended up seeing close to 500. We found out later that it had been announced on the local radio about the free clinic in town. Well, not what we expected, but this team did not back away from the challenge. Below is a photo of some of the patients in line at the clinic in Jesus.

The remainder of the week we served in the Los Rosales Church in Cajamarca. The FPC team transformed a sanctuary to a waiting room/triage area and pastor studies and Sunday school rooms became treatment rooms and a pharmacy. It is a site to see! Over the course of this week, the team saw over 1300 patients (both medical and dental). This precious child was just along for the ride on his mom's back as she was being seen in our clinic.

In addition to the thousands of patients seen, half the team was busy sharing the gospel in the local schools each day. A VBS was held in two different schools and the gospel was shared with over 500 kids each day! Praise God for the love that this team showered upon the youth in Cajamarca!

Thanks to FPC Jackson for another great year! We are overwhelmed by your generosity and love for the people of Peru and are looking forward to year 12!
