Christian Missionary Society (or CMS) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization located in Knoxville, TN. CMS is an organization in the United States of America that exists for the purpose of encouraging and assisting Reformed churches throughout the world to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, bringing the gospel to the nations. It seeks to be a bridge between churches in North America who have a burden for the advancement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and churches outside North America who are engaged in such work. CMS gives financial support to Peru Mission and its Missionaries, National Missionaries, Associate Missionaries, Fellows, and other such employees as shall be deemed appropriate by CMS. These tasks are accomplished through our Executive Director (Chris Bolton), Board of Directors (see below), and Administrative Staff (Rebecca Bishop).
Contributions to our Ministries
To help support the ministries of CMS and Peru Mission -- CMS, please visit our Give Now page. If you have questions about a contribution you have already made, please contact our Administrative Staff, Rebecca Bishop. All contributions are under the control of the CMS Board of Directors to be used for its exempt purposes. In the unlikely event a ministry is over-funded, or is not able to be carried out, the board will redirect the funds to a similar purpose. Because of this policy, your gifts to support the ministry of specific missionaries are not gifts to or for the individual, but to CMS for its ministries. While typically the use of gifts for ministry conducted by a missionary are used in accordance with a donor’s preferences, at times the board may redirect the use of these gifts. All contributions to CMS are tax-exempt. Contributions are solicited with the understanding that CMS has complete discretion and control over the use of all donated funds.
CMS Board of Directors
Members of the CMS Board of Directors are Wes Baker, Brad Ball, Bob Barber, Gary Bird, Chris Bolton, Bill Bradford, Alonzo Ramirez, Benjie Slaton, Robert Spears, and John Voss.
The CMS Board of Directors meets twice a year in person and once a year via telephonic conference. These godly men serve to guide and direct Peru Mission and provide financial oversight.
