Establishing missional churches requires a serious commitment to theological instruction and pastoral mentoring. The Areópago Cristiano (Christian Areopagus) works with churches and presbyteries in Peru to train new pastors, elders, and deacons. We offer on-site instruction in a traditional academic setting in the city of Trujillo, but we also offer education by extension for rural congregations and others who are unable to attend a traditional seminary. Both of these programs are combined with practical church-planting internships where candidates work directly with experienced pastors to hone their skills and further cultivate their gifts. Many of our students go on to serve existing congregations, a few plant churches with other missions, but some of our more gifted students join a Peru Mission church planting team.
