“Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to him, and he laid his hands on every one of them and healed them.” (Luke 4:40)
God created people in His image and has always cared about both their physical and spiritual needs. Peru Mission believes that healthcare is a fundamental need of the poor and under-served, and we have learned that having healthcare providers work side-by-side with the pastors and deacons of our congregations allows us to fulfill the Great Commission in word and deed as we demonstrate Christ's compassion to those who are in need of healing. In accordance with that call, we are establishing the Bethesda Healthcare System, a network of clinics and hospitals in the Esperanza District outside of Trujillo, Peru. As it is the Church's responsibility to care for her neighbors, our goal is to establish a medical clinic in every parish community, thereby taking part in the advancement of God's kingdom on earth.
Wichanzao
The Bethesda Clinic in Wichanzao is the first facility in the planned Bethesda Healthcare System and has been serving the Wichanzao parish since 2002. It is staffed by Peruvian physicians, nurses, dentists, and other personnel, and also receives assistance from short-term and long-term medical volunteers from the U.S. throughout the year.
Parque Industrial
Parque Industrial has been the site of several medical campaigns over the course of the last few years. Now, thanks to the help we received from several short-term teams, the parish clinic in Parque Industrial is now being used to provide consultation and treatment to parishioners.
Arévalo Missional Hospital
When completed, the Arévalo Missional Hospital will be the third facility in the Bethesda Healthcare System to minister to impoverished communities in northern Peru. For more information about the Arévalo Missional Hospital campaign, please visit the campaign page.
